AFA Autumn Salon 2019
The Rainha Dona Leonor building was the first high-rise residential block in Macau and equipped with an elevator. The design of this building shows the influence of Le Corbusier's “Unite d' Habitation of Marseille”. It comprises 24 duplex units in 13 storeys, and the façade frames each double height unit with living room plus balcony on the lower floor and bedrooms on the upper floor. The architect concerns about the relationship between people, living and urban environment.
This drawing was inspired after visit to a flat in the Leonor building, inside which some screens made up of circular modular were noted in the living room and the balcony. Therefore, the geometrical patterns of the screens are illustrated in orange around the borders of this drawing to highlight the interior design as well as the exterior ones.
